Newsstand marketing is a Rubik's Cube--a minute to learn, a lifetime to master.  What works in one situation, for one publisher, may not work in another situation, for another publisher.  Hence, the case studies format:  to show what has worked (or failed), and when, and how, and--occasionally--why.

     So much of the newsstand appears random and unpredictable.  We have our rules and our best practices, but when we take them to the field we're met with anomalies based on seasonality and cover art, distribution delays and "acts of God" (actual wording in distribution contracts).
